Fund A Cure is JDRF’s auction of giving and the backbone of Hope Gala fundraising. Near the end of the event, guests are invited to raise their bid card at the highest level possible, with every dollar of their donation supporting JDRF’s mission. Donors know their gift, which is 100% tax deductible, is making a direct impact in lives of those living with or affected by T1D.

Since our inception in 1970, JDRF has funded virtually every major breakthrough in T1D science. Today, we are the world’s leading funder and supporter of T1D research. JDRF is the only organization with both the vision and the strategic research plan to end T1D. We are driving progress with an ongoing stream of life-changing therapies moving from the lab to the community, positively impacting millions of lives around the world. We will not rest until T1D is fully conquered.

In 2016, the JDRF DC Hope Gala raised over $1.1 million through Fund A Cure.
The goal for 2017 is $1.25 million.

There are a variety of ways you can give, including:

  • Outright gift – On the night of the Gala, raise your paddle during the live Fund A Cure program to make a 100% tax-deductible donation straight to T1D research and research-related education. You can pay via cash, check, or credit card.

  • Appreciated securities – This is another great way to give to JDRF. You can raise your paddle on the night of the Gala and contact JDRF staff after the event to transfer securities.

  • Multi-year pledge – Increase your impact by making a multi-year pledge. JDRF can put your total donation to work right away while you pay the total amount over the next five years.

  • Donate tonight but pay in the new tax year (2018) – JDRF’s fiscal year runs July 1st through June 30th, and we understand that making your donation early in the new year may make the most sense for you. Payments have to be received prior to June 30, 2018.

You are the reason for our success! Together we can Turn Type One into Type None.

Donations can also be made online or by mail if you are unable to attend the Gala this year.
